Game 038: Hey! Ward Ya Go?

The unthinkable has happened. They’re making an Independence Day 2 without Will Smith. And they killed off his Col. Hiller on a website. Oh and Heyward signed with the Cubs. 🙁

It’s not all bad news on the St. Louis sports scene this week though. The St. Louis Rams actually won a game as Todd Gurley returned to form and led the Rams to a win over the Detroit Lions. There was even some good news on the stadium front as the NFL promised the city of St. Louis another $100 million towards the new construction costs. Plus we finally get around to our college basketball preview, and only a month into the season!

There were also a ton of trailer to cover this week on the podcast. Independence Day: Resurgence, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, X-Men: Apocalypse, Star Trek: Beyond, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and of course Central Intelligence. Since when did all sequels start using colons. What happened to the good ole days of numerals? And for some reason David watched Adam Sandler’s the Ridiculous 6. Apparently he was punishing himself for something.

Notes:

Jason made his triumphant return to the top of our NFL pick standings after a 4-0 week to put him tied with Steve for first place at 24-31 while David fell back into last at 23-31. We are not great at this.
