There was a shakeup in the standings last week. We didn’t get a post up in time. Steve went 3-1 and Tim went 4-0 to take over a split for first place knocking David into 3rd after a 1-3 week. Meanwhile Jason still lurks in the dark waiting to trike. 4 points back after a 2-2 week.

On to picks for week 14!
Game of the Week #1: Kansas City Chiefs @ Oakland Raiders
Jason: Who would have thunk a matchup between the Chiefs and the Raiders in December would feature the teams at 9-3 and 10-2 respectively. The Raiders need to win to keep pace with the Patriots for homefield advantage, and the Chiefs need to win to even up the division. I went heavy on the Raiders in fantasy this season and it’s paid off so far. Don’t screw me now that the playoffs have started.
Pick: Oakland Raiders
David: The Chiefs have pulled out some close games here recently. Sure they’re 9-3, and they’ve won 4 out of their last 5, but those 4 wins were all settled by 5 points or less. I’m going with the high powered offense over good defense on this one, Raiders win their 7th straight.
Pick: Oakland Raiders
Steve: The Chiefs have been picking it up lately and I think they’ll win this one at home and make things interesting down the stretch.
Pick: Kansas City Chiefs
Tim: Oakland is on a 6 game winning streak since their last loss against the Chiefs, but they’ve been living dangerously the past few weeks. Kansas City beats them again to pull into a tie for first in the West.
Pick: Kansas City Chiefs
Game of the Week #2: New Orleans Saints @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Jason: Tampa Bay was my surprise pick in the preseason to make the playoffs that I wasn’t actually confident enough in to make as an actual pick. And they have lived up fully to that expectation. They’re in control of the 6th and final playoff spot in the NFC at the moment. I still think they’ve got a chance. Maybe.
Pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
David: The Bucs give up the 2nd most yards per reception in the league and the Saints are 1st in the league in passing yards per game. Jameis Winston really only has Mike Evans to throw to and Brees makes everyone on his team a weapon. So Saints offense > Buc’s offense and defense, using the transitive property (definitely not using that right, but I don’t care).
Pick: New Orleans Saints
Steve: Bucs have won 4 straight and are right fighting for a playoff spot.
Pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tim: Who’s making the schedule? These teams will play again two weeks after this game. Tampa is playing well as of late, but I’m not completely sold on them. And with Atlanta faltering lately, I think we will soon see a three way tie for first in the division and it will come down to the final week.
Pick: New Orleans Saints
Lock of the Week
Jason: Atlanta Falcons @ Los Angeles Rams
With this loss Jeff Fisher will move within one loss of tying the all time record. Then he’ll need win the 3 final games to go 7-9. Maybe he shouldn’t have cut that guy on Hard Knocks. If that was 7-9 bullshit, they could have used it.
Pick: Atlanta Falcons
David: Denver Broncos @ Tennessee Titans
Mariota > Siemian and Lynch… combined. Regardless of who starts for the Broncos. The Bronco’s defense hasn’t been stellar lately, giving up 25+ points in 3 of their last 4, so I’m going with the Titan’s offense on this one.
Pick: Tennessee Titans
Steve: Chicago Bears @ Detroit Lions
Chicago is not good at football this year. So I’ll take Detroit to keep rolling.
Pick: Detroit Lions
Tim: Houston Texans @ Indianapolis Colts
Colts have won 3 of their last 4 games. With a win this week, they will take control of the god-awful AFC South and receive the honor of getting blown out by the Chiefs/Raiders in Round 1.
Pick: Indianapolis Colts
Upset of the Week
Jason: Dallas Cowboys @ New York Giants
If there is one thing Eli Manning is good at it is making derpy faces on the sidelines. If there are two things Eli Manning is good at it’s making derpy faces and ruining overconfident fan’s days in primetime.
Pick: New York Giants
David: Minnesota Vikings @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Because why not? I think the Jaguars are due for some offensive blowout and a win over a team they shouldn’t beat. Plus it’s in Jacksonville, and the Vikings offense hasn’t put up over 20 points in 6 of their last 7.
Pick: Jacksonville Jaguars
Steve: Atlanta Falcons @ Los Angeles Rams
This is a classic game that the Rams have no business winning, but will anyway. Also, this is nearly a must win to get back on track for 7-9.
Pick: Los Angeles Rams
Tim: Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns
Come on Cleveland. You only have 4 more chance to get a W this year. With the Bengal’s season all but over, this is probably their last real shot.
Pick: Cleveland Browns
