NFL Survivor Week 6 – The Kiss of Death

We’re back baby! After a brief interruption where the Texans were able to outlast the Jaguars in week 4, my kiss of death returned. This time the recipient was the Seattle Seahawks. At first I thought I gave them the kiss of death by going with Geno Smith and Kenneth Walker on FanDuel. Forgot I had picked them as a survivor pick too. Let’s do a quick recap.

  1. Bengals over Patriots
  2. Ravens over Raiders
  3. Raiders over Panthers
  4. Texans over Jaguars
  5. Seahawks over Giants

Read on to find out which team’s week I’m going to ruin this time.

Games to Avoid

Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans -2.5
The Colts may be getting Anthony Richardson back, but will be without Jonathan Taylor. Are we also certain Anthony Richardson is an upgrade over Joe Flacco? Flacco had been tossing the ball all over the yard filling in for the injured Richardson. Meanwhile Vegas is giving the Titans the advantage here? Will Levis seems like a QB that can make a win into a defeat in a moments notice. Not putting my money on this games outcome.

Washington Commanders at Baltimore Ravens -6.5
6.5 points for the Ravens seems like a lot for this game. I know they’ve climbed back to 3-2 after their 0-2 start. They did just get shredded by Joe Burrow and managed to win that game thanks to a terrible snap on the Bengals OT field goal try. If the Bengals defense wasn’t so bad they may not have made it to OT. On the other side I don’t think I’m ready to take Jayden Daniels as a road dog in Baltimore yet. Though I wouldn’t be completely surprised if he pulls it off. The over could be fun in this one.

Cincinnati Bengals -3.5 at New York Giants
The Bengals season is on life support. A loss against the Giants would certainly put them out of their misery at 1-5. Their offense is great. Their defense is garbage. This defense seems like it could give up 30+ points to Daniel Jones. Still I’m not willing to bet on either of these teams right now.

Buffalo Bills -2.5 at New York Jets
Who are the Bills? They looked like the best team in football through 3 weeks. Then they lost their next 2. One being a demolition by Baltimore. The other coming in a tight contest to the Texans where Josh Allen looked pretty bad. The Jets meanwhile have already fired their head coach and benched their Offensive Coordinator but kept him around.

Games to Consider

Jacksonville Jaguars at Chicago Bears -1
The Jaguars did get in the win column but I still don’t trust them. The Bears defense is a very solid unit and should be able to limit the Jaguars. Caleb Williams has looked much better against middle of the pack defenses as the season has progressed. Which the Jaguars fall safely within. I’ll go with the Bears in this one.

Arizona Cardinals at Green Bay Packers -5.5
The Cardinals have alternated between spicy and mild this season. Jordan Love haas seemed to need a couple quarters to get warmed up as he’s come back from injury. The Packers are the better team and the line shows that. I wouldn’t be entirely surprised if the Cardinals pull off an upset, but the Packers should take care of business.

Houston Texans -6.5 at New England Patriots
The Drake Maye experience is about to begin in New England. Why they decided to do that against a good pressuring team when their offensive line is not great is a good question. I expect Drake Maye will find himself on his ass several times this game. Texans win it.

Detroit Lions -3 at Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys barely eked out a win against the Pittsburgh Steelers last week. The Steelers almost won it on the raddest goal line forced fumble after a linebacker leaped over the line and knocked the ball loose. Dak managed to recover and score the game winning touchdown on the next play. I don’t trust them against a much better Lions team.

The Kiss of Death

I’ll be giving the Green Bay Packers the kiss of death this week. Sorry Packers fans but I think they’ll win which almost assuredly means they’ll lose.
