Finally got a game that I didn’t have to sweat down to the end this week. Is this the start of an epic winning streak? Maybe. Is it likely a hiccup on my path to humiliation? More likely.

Let’s start with a recap of what got us here.

Now lets get into the games to avoid and consider for week 7. Then I’ll provide my patented Kiss of Death to one team that only the Texans and Packers have been able to overcome this season.

Games to Avoid

New England Patriots at Jacksonville Jaguars -5.5
The Jaguars are 1-5 and somehow getting 5.5 points at “home” in London. This is another one of those 8:30 AM central starts I forget about until 9 AM after getting the kids breakfast. Both teams suck. Avoid this game at all costs. Not going to lie, I’m probably not going to turn this one on.

Seattle Seahawks at Atlanta Falcons -3
The Seahawks looked good to start the season, and then promptly lost 3 in a row. The Falcons have managed to win a few close games and even let Carolina hang around for a half of football before putting them away. Given the Falcons penchant for close games I could see an upset here. I do think the Falcons are the better team.

Houston Texans at Green Bay Packers -2.5
This may be the game of the week. I’m going to watch it for sure, but I’m not going to risk a survivor pool pick on either of these teams this week. Plus I’ve already burned them with my picks. But you may not have. Still save these two for a gimme down the road if you haven’t used them already.

Kansas City Chiefs at San Francisco 49ers -1.5
I’m a little surprised the Niners are favored in this one. They’ve been a little erratic and sit at 3-3 with losses to the Vikings, Rams, and Cardinals. Meanwhile their wins are against the Jets, Patriots, and the Seahawks. The latter being the best of those wins though it could turn out the Seahawks are actually bad too. I’m still not ready to write them off as an easy win for the Chiefs though. The Chiefs do like to keep games as close as possible down to the wire.

Games to Consider

Tennessee Titans at Buffalo Bills -9.5
The Bills are going into this one riding high atop the AFC East. They also just traded for Amari Cooper who has to be extremely happy to get out of Cleveland and catch passes from Josh Allen instead of grounders from Deshaun Watson. The only risk to the Bills is me giving the Kiss of Death to the highest favored team for the week. (See weeks 1 (Bengals) and 2 (Ravens).

Cincinnati Bengals -5.5 at Cleveland Browns
I’m not entirely sure why I still think the Bengals are good. They’re 2-4 after eking out a prime time win against the New York Giants 17-7 on Sunday Night Football. They also benefitted from some fumble luck as Chase Browns fumble bounced around for 5 yards before going out of bounds while they were up 10-7 in the final minutes. This one is more about how bad the Browns are than how good the Bengals are though. Give me Burrow all day here.

Carolina Panthers at Washington Commanders -8
The only way the Panthers and the Red Rifle pull this one off is if the Commanders defense falls apart and Jayden Daniels has a regression game. The former seems more likely than the latter. Even with that I’m not sure the Commanders lose.

L.A Chargers -2.5 at Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals are frisky, but I think the Chargers might be good. Jim Harbaugh may just be a very good football coach. Marvin Harrison Jr. is also questionable in this one which is a tough loss for the Cardinals If he’s out. This could be a fun game, but I lean Chargers to come out on top.

The Pick

We’re on a 1 game correct winning streak. Let’s keep the good times rolling and give me the Bills to handle the Titans. Will Levis better not go into Buffalo and get a win and make me look stupid.
