I have a chance at a verified winning streak after Buffalo came through for me in Week 7. Going back to last weeks picks.
Let’s keep the good times rolling and give me the Bills to handle the Titans. Will Levis better not go into Buffalo and get a win and make me look stupid.
Buffalo did not make me look stupid, I did that myself not realizing Mason Rudolph was starting. Buffalo carried the day to a 34-10 win despite falling behind 10-0 early on. Let’s get into the games for Week 8.
Frist a recap.
Bengals over PatriotsRavens over RaidersRaiders over Panthers- Texans over Jaguars
Seahawks over Giants- Packers over Cardinals
- Bills over Titans
Games to Avoid
Baltimore Ravens -8.5 at Cleveland Browns
Listen, I know the Ravens are good. They should win this. But how am I going to pick against the Browns getting the Jameis Winston boost? Nick Chubb will also be back for his second week. This could be a different Browns offense, and the Ravens did already blow one against the Raiders who have lost to the Panthers.
Arizona Cardinals at Miami Dolphins -3.5
Tua is back. Though coming back after a concussion who knows if he’ll be rusty. There’s also the concern about what happens if he gets hit hard again. On the other side the Cardinals are hard to pin down. They seem frisky. I could see this game going either way.
New York Jets -7 at New England Patriots
The Jets should win this one. But they’re extremely dysfunctional. If the Patriots defense comes to to play and Drake Maye does enough they could sneak out a win. Seems unlikely, but I’m also not betting on the Jets right now.
Philadelphia Eagles at Cincinatti Bengals -2.5
The Eagles are 4-2 but it doesn’t feel like they’ve been that great. The Bengals have to basically win every game after their terrible start. Though it feels like they’ve had must win games earlier in the season against worse teams they dropped. So who knows which Bengals will come to play.
Games to Consider
Tennessee Titans at Detroit Lions -11.5
11.5 points seems a little low for the Lions in this one.
Green Bay Packers -3.5 at Jacksonville Jaguars
I’m not sure why the Packers are only getting -3.5 points. I guess they’re on the road in Jacksonville. Trevor Lawrence did look better in the second Jaguars London game, but that could have been a boost from the extra travel rest. It was also against the Patriots. Give me the Packers here.
Carolina Panthers at Denver Broncos -10
The Denver Broncos are sitting at a surprising 4-3. The Panthers are turning back to Bryce Young. Not from skill, but because Andy Dalton injured his thumb in a car accident. The Broncos defense has been pretty nasty. I imagine they’ll handle this one.
Pittsburgh Steelers -6 at New York Giants
Is Russel Wilson good? He started off poorly against the Jets but ended up putting together a pretty nice night in the Steelers win. The Giants are better than the Jets? Worse? I’m not sure, but they’re much worse than the Steelers.
The Pick
I was leaning towards picking the Lions in this one. But I also see a great opportunity to get an easy win with the Broncos against the Panthers. If any of my survivor pools were still alive I’d go with the Broncos and save the Lions for another day. Give me Denver.
