NFL Picks Week Six

NFL Picks Week Six

The View From The Pine Unanimous Seal of Approval of DEATH! took another victim this week. This time though it was the Cleveland Indians. But we’ve got bad news for at least one NFL team this week. Yep, that’s right. We’re all in agreement that they’re going to win. That makes about a 90% chance that they lose. Find out who below.

GOTW #1: Philadelphia Eagles @ Carolina Panthers

Tim (11-9): It’s a shame that the best game of the week is on Thursday. Carolina has looked good the past 2 weeks, beating New England and Detroit on the road, and Cam is playing like his MVP level.

David (9-11): The Thursday Night games to me are always a toss-up. I’m going with the Panthers since Cam has more experience than Wentz and more weapons at this point as well.

Jason (9-11): Well, I picked against the Panthers on the road last week. That did not pan out. So I’ll take them at home this week. This game could go either way for me.

Steve (8-12): My fantasy QBs are squaring off! I’ll go with Cam at home since it seems like the Panthers have been gradually getting their shit together.

GOTW #2: Los Angeles Rams @ Jacksonville Jaguars

Tim (11-9): I hate picking the Rams, but I’m still not a believer in the 1st place Jaguars. Blake Bortles has less passing yards than Mike Glennon and DeShone Kizer, who have both been benched this year.

David (9-11): It’s in Jacksonville and the Jag’s defense, mainly the secondary, has been dominant lately giving up the 2nd least points per game in the league. Its time for the Rams to get that annual signature loss that ruins their whole season.

Jason (9-11): This is a real Sophie’s Choice. Do I pick the Rams and Stan Kroenke’s shit-eating stache or do I pick Blake Bortles. Both terrible options, but I can’t in my right mind pick Blake Bortles. Even if he did just beat the Steelers.

Steve (8-12): The Rams and Jaguars are both 3-2. It seems to be about time for the Rams to start moving their way to 7-9.

Lock of the Week

Tim (11-9): New England Patriots (-9.5) @ New York Jets (+9.5)

Somehow these teams are tied for first place in the AFC East. The Jets have been better than expected this year, but not good enough to take down the Pats. The Patriots will extend their 10 game road win streak.

David (9-11): New England Patriots (-9.5) @ New York Jets (+9.5)

Because its the Patriots against the Jets. Jets have only won 2 of the last 12 matchups against the Patriots. You can take that to the bank.

Jason (9-11): Miami Dolphins (+9) @ Atlanta Falcons (-9)

It pains me to say it, but Jay Cutler looks done with football. The Falcons are coming off a bye and playing a team that is the equivalent of another. Chalk this one up as a win for Atlanta

The Patriots own the Jets. It’s a fact of life.

Upset of the Week

Tim (11-9): Detroit Lions (+3) @ New Orleans Saints (-3)

Detroit is just 3-2, but their 2 losses are by a combined 7 points.

David (9-11): Chicago Bears (+6.5) @ Baltimore Ravens (-6.5)

Mitch “I love kissing t*****s” Trubinsky got his feet wet last week, so maybe he’s got an upset in him against a Baltimore team that’s been hit or miss so far this season.

Jason (9-11): Detroit Lions (+3) @ New Orleans Saints (-3)

I’m not sure what the Saints are yet. They got rolled by Minnesota and a Patriots team that could actually be bad. Then beat the Panthers on the road and destroyed a Miami team that is awful. The Lions are still my sleeper for the season still despite losing in very Lions ways.

Steve (8-12): Chicago Bears (+6.5) @ Baltimore Ravens (-6.5)

I’ll go with the Bears over the Ravens. Chicago is a tough 1-4, but have been in some close games, including a game Monday they probably should have won.
